We provide outdoor recreational activities for disabled veterans of the United States Armed Forces, these activities and related expenses are provided at no cost.


Apply for Membership


You must be an approved member of the Wounded Warriors Guide Service in order to apply for events. Once your membership is approved, you will have access to apply for all events.

    This year's annual Take a Vet Fishing event will occur on June 10th at Trappers Landing Lodge on Leech Lake near Walker, Minnesota. Wounded Warriors Guide Service, along with local guides and boat captains, will provide a day on the lake for over one hundred Veterans. A fish dinner and raffle will follow the day of fishing.

    Our annual Minnesota Purple Heart recipient bear hunting event is scheduled for September 1-5, 2023, near Remer/Longville, Minnesota. Three (Minnesota resident PURPLE HEART RECIPIENTS only) Veterans will be selected and notified shortly after the closing of applications. Upon selection and notification, the selected Veterans must apply for a Minnesota bear hunting tag from the Minnesota DNR NLT May 5. After applying, fill out and mail/fax the DNR Military Preference Application, along with proof of Purple Heart, to the address on the application. This trip includes hunting over bait with a licensed guide, lodging, and meals. Licensing, gun, ammo, and transportation to the hunt site are the responsibility of the selected Veterans. Selected Veterans are asked to bring appropriate camouflage clothing for a variety of early fall Minnesota weather. Please ensure that you can attend this event, i.e., clear it with work, school, and spouse, before applying. By submitting this application, you hereby agree/allow for voice, video, and photo release to promote the event. Also, ensure you update your profile to include verifying your contact information and uploading your DD214 and VA verification information.

    • Wichita Falls, Texas

    Our annual Texas hog and dove hunt is scheduled for 06 through 12 September with Red Dirt Outfitters out of Wichita Falls. We will leave early on Wednesday, 06 September and return the evening of Tuesday, 12 September. Eight selected Veterans will be transported to, or meeting us in, Wichita Falls to pursue hogs and doves. If you do not get notified via phone, text, or email within a few days of the application closing date then you were not selected to attend. Meals, lodging, licenses, and transportation from a TBD location will be provided. Selected Veterans are asked to bring an appropriate rifle (hog) and shotgun (dove), ammo, as well as clothing for hot, and potentially wet, Texas fall weather (camo is helpful for dove hunting). If you do not have a rifle and/or a shotgun, please notify WWGS. Please ensure that you can attend this event, i.e., clear it with work, school, and spouse, before applying. By submitting this application, you hereby agree/allow for voice, video, and photo release to promote the event. Also, ensure you update your profile to include verifying your contact information and uploading your DD214 and VA verification information.
