We provide outdoor recreational activities for disabled veterans of the United States Armed Forces, these activities and related expenses are provided at no cost.


Apply for Membership


You must be an approved member of the Wounded Warriors Guide Service in order to apply for events. Once your membership is approved, you will have access to apply for all events.

    This year's annual Take a Vet Fishing event is occurring on June 11th at Trappers Landing on Leech Lake near Walker Minnesota. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

    • Silver Bay, Minnesota

    Our second annual Lake Superior lake trout fishing event is scheduled for July 28-31 on awesome Lake Superior out of Silver Bay, Minnesota (near Duluth). Three Veterans will be selected for this event and notified shortly after the closing of applications. Meals, lodging, and all necessary fishing equipment will be provided. Selected Veterans are responsible for transportation to Silver Bay, licenses (including trout/salmon stamp), and appropriate clothes for a variety of weather conditions on the big lake (this is Minnesota after all). Please ensure that you can attend this event, i.e., clear it with work, school, and spouse, before applying. Also, ensure you update your profile to include verifying your contact information and uploading your DD214 and VA verification information

    • Remer/Longville, Minnesota

    Our annual Minnesota Purple Heart recipient bear hunting event is scheduled for September 1-5, 2022, near Remer/Longville, Minnesota. Three Minnesota resident Veterans will be selected and notified shortly after the closing of applications. Upon selection and notification, the selected Veterans must apply for a Minnesota bear hunting tag from the Minnesota DNR NLT May 6. After applying, fill out and mail/fax the DNR Military Preference Application, along with proof of Purple Heart, to the address on the application. This trip includes hunting over bait with a licensed guide, lodging, and meals. Licensing, gun, ammo, and transportation to the hunt site are the responsibility of the selected Veterans. Selected Veterans are asked to bring appropriate camouflage clothing for a variety of early fall Minnesota weather. Please ensure that you can attend this event, i.e., clear it with work, school, and spouse, before applying. Also, ensure you update your profile to include verifying your contact information and uploading your DD214 and VA verification information.
